Subscriptly · Last updated 29 September 2026
Subscriptly is a tracker for the payments that come round again — subscriptions, rent, insurance, a loan. This policy exists to tell you what happens to your information, and the honest answer is: the developer collects none of it.
What is collected
Nothing. Subscriptly has no account to create, no login, and no server of ours. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We never see what you enter, because there is nowhere of ours for it to go.
Where your data lives
Your recurring-payment records are stored on your device. If you choose private iCloud sync, those records can also be stored in your private iCloud database and sync among devices signed in to the same Apple Account. This includes names, amounts, billing dates, notes, recorded variable-bill actuals, price history, and Recently Deleted status.
App-level settings, take-home pay, manual exchange rates, the fetched-rate cache, and onboarding state stay device-local. None of this information is uploaded to or visible to the developer.
Private iCloud sync
Subscriptly asks you to choose between keeping the library on this iPhone and using private iCloud sync before it opens the payment database. If you choose iCloud, existing recurring-payment records on that device may upload when iCloud is available. You can change the preference later; restarting the app is required before its active storage mode changes.
Apple operates iCloud. Your records are stored in your private iCloud database on Apple's servers, not on a Subscriptly server, and are governed by Apple's privacy policy. The developer cannot access them. Subscriptly reports whether the iCloud account is available or whether it knows of a transfer failure; it does not claim that every device has finished syncing.
Retention and deletion
Deleting an individual payment moves it to Recently Deleted. It stops contributing to totals and reminders but remains restorable until you erase it permanently; there is no automatic expiry. Restoring, permanently erasing, and Delete All can propagate through iCloud when private sync is active. Sync is therefore not a backup: it can carry mistakes and deletions to another device.
Backups and transfer
You can ask Subscriptly to export a manual backup through the system Files picker. The backup is readable JSON and can include current, disputed, and Recently Deleted payment versions, payment names, prices, dates, notes, app-level settings, take-home pay, and manual exchange rates. You choose where the file is saved and whether to move or share it; Subscriptly does not upload or receive a copy. Because the file may contain private financial context, keep it somewhere private and secure.
You can also export an encrypted Vault file protected by a password you choose. The password and derived encryption key are not stored by Subscriptly. As with a readable backup, you choose where the Vault file is saved and whether to move or share it; the developer receives no copy.
If unsafe sync data prevents the library from opening, Subscriptly can offer a recovery export of the records it can independently validate. It tells you how many unsafe records were omitted and does not delete those records from the original store.
Network and user-directed transfers
To convert between currencies, Subscriptly asks a public exchange-rate service — frankfurter.dev, which republishes the European Central Bank's daily reference rates — for the day's rates. At the application layer, that request contains only the selected base-currency code: it does not contain an account, payment record, or stable app identifier. Like any internet request, the service's network provider receives basic connection metadata such as an IP address and user-agent. Frankfurter states that its public API runs behind Cloudflare and that Cloudflare collects basic information for traffic analytics. The Subscriptly developer does not receive that metadata or combine it with your app data. If you tap a cancellation link you have saved for one of your subscriptions, it opens in your browser like any other link.
Children
Subscriptly collects no personal information from anyone, and that includes children.
Selling or sharing
We cannot sell or share what we do not have, and we do not have it.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it.
Support
For help with Subscriptly, bug reports, or privacy questions, use the support form. Please do not include backup or Vault contents, payment records, account details, or other sensitive financial information.
Messages sent through the form are kept in Google Forms and used only to answer you. The email field is optional; leave it blank if you do not need a reply. Nothing you send there reaches the app or your data in it.
